Artist's Description
This backyard visitor seems to be striking a pose. It almost looks like he's at the podium, delivering a speech. Because he's standing on a tree stump, the title pretty much suggested itself. He's running for office! Two peanuts in every garage! Or something.
The original work was executed in colored pencil on frosted mylar (also known as frosted acetate). This is a wonderful surface for colored pencil. It enables much deeper, richer colors, than plain drawing paper.
About Bob Nolin
My passion is Realism, especially close up, with lots of detail. Each painting is a labor of love, and can take from 20 to 75 hours to complete. I've been working full time as an artist since 2004, and attended several art schools in the early 1980's. My work has won awards at the local and national level, and has been published in "American Artist" and "International Artist" magazines. I live near Pittsburgh, PA with my wife, two teenagers, and a small menagerie of animals. Please don't bother using the email form. I don't accept emails from Fine Art America visitors. Thanks.

This work is being posted in a new discussion in my group "Zoofari - Traditional Art ONLY" about artwork (and artists) that I find impressive and inspiring. But, I would like others to join in so we can create a unique collection that possible buyers can browse through. Should you have the time, stop by, look around and maybe join in. Love this piece
