Artist's Description

This is a painting of Myrddin in his tower, which is the old Celtic name for Merlin, King Arthur's friend and advisor. There are many details in this image, including images from the Book of Kells, and instruments from the British Museum, including an astrolabe. This digital painting took over 70 hours to complete. It will reproduce well as a large painting, especially oil on canvas.

About Bob Nolin

Bob Nolin

My passion is Realism, especially close up, with lots of detail. Each painting is a labor of love, and can take from 20 to 75 hours to complete. I've been working full time as an artist since 2004, and attended several art schools in the early 1980's. My work has won awards at the local and national level, and has been published in "American Artist" and "International Artist" magazines. I live near Pittsburgh, PA with my wife, two teenagers, and a small menagerie of animals. Please don't bother using the email form. I don't accept emails from Fine Art America visitors. Thanks.
