This is a tribute to William A. Bouguereau, 1825-1905, a brilliant French Academic painter. His work was forgotten for most of the 20th century, but is experiencing a reawakening of interest now. The girl in this tribute is based on a contemporary photo. The background is a master copy of Bouguereau's "Meditation."
About Bob Nolin
My passion is Realism, especially close up, with lots of detail. Each painting is a labor of love, and can take from 20 to 75 hours to complete. I've been working full time as an artist since 2004, and attended several art schools in the early 1980's. My work has won awards at the local and national level, and has been published in "American Artist" and "International Artist" magazines.
