Very cool!

Bob Nolin replied:

Thanks, Christine! Sold this original back in the 90's. Glad I took a slide of it first!

Fabulous water color! Wasn''t sure for a minute if it was actually a photo. Even then it would have been great.

Bob Nolin replied:

I spent a day collecting shells, arranged them, and then photographed them. I used the photo for reference. Thanks so much, Daniel!

Artist's Description

This is an older watercolor. I had collected all of these one day while walking the beach on the Outer Banks, NC, and arranged them like this. Planned randomness, I guess! This was published in the book Creative Watercolor by Mary Ann Beckwith, from North Light Books.

About Bob Nolin

Bob Nolin

My passion is Realism, especially close up, with lots of detail. Each painting is a labor of love, and can take from 20 to 75 hours to complete. I've been working full time as an artist since 2004, and attended several art schools in the early 1980's. My work has won awards at the local and national level, and has been published in "American Artist" and "International Artist" magazines. I live near Pittsburgh, PA with my wife, two teenagers, and a small menagerie of animals. Please don't bother using the email form. I don't accept emails from Fine Art America visitors. Thanks.
