Artist's Description
The Sentinel is my first bald eagle portrait. I've always wanted to do one. They're such awesome, majestic birds. The dramatic contrast helps to show off the feathers, lit from above. This is a digital painting, entirely painted by hand, stroke by stroke, using a digital tablet and stylus.
About Bob Nolin
My passion is Realism, especially close up, with lots of detail. Each painting is a labor of love, and can take from 20 to 75 hours to complete. I've been working full time as an artist since 2004, and attended several art schools in the early 1980's. My work has won awards at the local and national level, and has been published in "American Artist" and "International Artist" magazines. I live near Pittsburgh, PA with my wife, two teenagers, and a small menagerie of animals. Please don't bother using the email form. I don't accept emails from Fine Art America visitors. Thanks.

I thought that the duckling was my favorite until I saw this eagle. Very nice job!!
Bob Nolin replied:
Thanks, Jena! That's so nice to hear! Those feathers took forever!

Very gorgeous - with both the execution in detail and the emotion in the eagle.
Bob Nolin replied:
Thank you so much!
